Hello!

Welcome to my blog! My name is Varun, I’m 31 years old, and I live in Toronto, Canada. Though at the moment I suppose it doesn’t really matter where any of us live, since we’re all cooped up in our houses. Yay pandemic season!

This is not my first attempt at writing, or blogging for that matter. Multiple attempts have been made, the most recent one being a series of posts on Medium, where, contrary to previously held beliefs, just about anyone can post. I’m determined to make this blog last though. Not sure if it’s quarantine-inspired confidence/boredom, or just the desire to get my random musings out to the world, but whatever it is, I feel inspired and so here I am!

The picture in this post was taken by me on my 3rd day in Toronto a little over 2 years ago. If I may say so, I think it’s a damn good picture, especially considering my forgettable photography skills. But it also represents what has now become home, at least for the foreseeable future. So I thought I’d put it up.

There’s no particular theme I have in mind for this blog. It could be about anything that comes to mind, which is the beauty of having one’s own creative outlet as opposed to writing for someone or on a particular platform. What I am going to strive to do though, is be completely honest and authentic, so I hope that shines through. Ideas come and go, so there might be a few modifications as we go along, but this is where I am today.
